Liverpool are in “attack mode” to finalise €60M new signing – “negotiations could become complicated”

According to Mundo Deportivo via Paisley Gates, Liverpool attempted to approach Real Sociedad about Takefusa Kubo in recent months. The Japanese midfielder decided to stay with his current club despite receiving a sizable offer that triggered his €60 million (£51 million) release clause. But according to recent sources, Liverpool is reportedly lining up a fresh offer to sign the highly-regarded 22-year-old player. According to La Liga rules, Kubo’s contract must have a release clause, same as that of every other player. Fichajes, a Spanish source, claims that Liverpool is closing in on bringing him to Anfield and is advising supporters to keep a careful eye on his performances.

Liverpool, according to them, is in “attack mode,” but “negotiations could become complicated.” This is due to reports that he would rather remain in Spain, but the Reds will not give up on him. Whether or not this perseverance will be fruitful is a different story. Although Kubo has the last say, the Merseyside club is allegedly considering making Real Sociedad an offer of £51 million for the midfielder.

The Egyptian star of the team, Mohamed Salah, might perhaps leave Liverpool as manager Jurgen Klopp’s term draws to an end this season. However, beIN Sports has hinted that Salah would likely stay at Anfield for another season. They will need a worthy replacement if Salah departs, and Kubo is clearly not up to the task of replacing such a legendary and significant player. However, Liverpool has never been a team to lavish large sums of money on player replacements, so it’s unlikely that FSG will adopt a different strategy in light of Jurgen Klopp’s departure. Kubo has seven goals and three assists this season, but he still has a ways to go before he can replace Salah at Anfield.
