Advantages and disadvantages: Fulham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Jack Stroudley reflects on our home-court draw with Crystal Palace. I believe that following Saturday’s match, if people weren’t already persuaded that Fulham was in the clear, they definitely need to be. After a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at home, Marco Silva’s team has only triumphed once in their previous six games. A point isn’t all that bad of a result considering Oliver Glasner’s Eagles have been playing well lately, but there were some talking points from the game with both ups and downs.

Rodrigo Muniz needed a goal, I stated yesterday on the way to Craven Cottage. His recent performances have been strong, and yesterday was no different. He has been an outstanding “number nine” player who can draw fouls and get others involved. Muniz repeatedly prevailed over a cunning back three, especially against Joachim Andersen thanks to some excellent flick-ons. Against a strong back three, the Brazilian won seven of the twelve ground duels and was fouled five times in the course of the match. His much-needed goal capped off another superb display, and any doubts about Muniz’s status as a purple patch striker have now been permanently dispelled.
