Update: Jurgen Klopp faces terrible scenario following violent clash with Premier League referee.

Jurgen Klopp has battled with Paul Tierney twice during Liverpool’s encounters against Tottenham, but the referee will still officiate this weekend’s fixture. Jurgen Klopp will confront Paul Tierney again when Liverpool meet Tottenham on Sunday. Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League this season are finished after a run of one win in five games. After losing 2-0 to Everton in the Merseyside derby, the Reds were beaten to a 2-2 draw by West Ham over the weekend, leaving them five points behind Manchester City and four behind second-placed Arsenal.

Nonetheless, Klopp’s team will meet Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday, hoping to finish the season on a high note before the German manager leaves in the summer. Given their history, Tierney’s appearance in his farewell match at Anfield may sour things. Tierney has been appointed as the game’s referee, with Scott Ledger and Mat Wilkes as his assistants, Tom Bramall as fourth official, and John Brooks on VAR responsibilities. Tierney has been awarded the match despite previously fighting with Klopp in two Liverpool against Tottenham games.
