Report: Michail Antonio shares what Jurgen Klopp said to Mohamed Salah on the touchline during Liverpool’s game against West Ham.

Liverpool drew with West Ham on Saturday, but the main story following the game was a rift between Jurgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool manager and his star player had a spat on the touchline immediately before Salah was substituted against the Hammers, and there has been a lot of speculation this week about what happened.

So, what exactly happened? Michail Antonio was near to the event, and during an appearance on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, the striker revealed what he heard Klopp say to Salah over the weekend.

What Jurgen Klopp said to Mohamed Salah

: Antonio described what he had heard about the incident.

So, while this is not inside information, I have heard that this is what the boys have been talking about on the training ground. Klopp generally greets players with a big hug, but when Mo came on, he walked in a different direction and did his shinpads and whatnot. Klopp extended his hand to him for a brief moment before slapping it away. Klopp didn’t like it and said, “Do you want to sit back down?” which essentially meant, “Do you want to continue?” “And no one has informed me what Mo said back,” Antonio said.

Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp should overcome this.

While this was a dramatic moment between Klopp and Salah, we doubt it will last long. By the sounds of it, this was merely a burst of emotion as Liverpool battled on the pitch, and after so many years together, Salah and Klopp should be able to kiss and make up after this event. Salah should be a little less obstinate in these instances, but we can understand why he wasn’t as concerned with acknowledging his manager when he was in the zone, preparing to join a game that needed rescue.
