Top-tier Liverpool player has concluded his final match for the club.

Liverpool will lose Thiago Alcantara at the end of the current campaign. Thiaaaaaaaago . Alcantara Thiago. A boy with more skill in his little toe than most people have in their entire boot. The not-so-breaking news is that he will be leaving Liverpool this summer. According to The Athletic [subscription required], that is. Let’s go back in time. In September 2020, there was a lot of excitement in the air as Thiago entered Anfield, having just won the UCL with Bayern Munich thanks to a MOTM performance in the final match against PSG. Liverpool is spending a whooping £27.3 million for the right. Everyone was ecstatic, envisioning the miracles that this maestro of midfield could perform.

Unfortunately, fate had other ideas. There were highs and lows during Thiago’s tenure at Liverpool, making it somewhat of a rollercoaster ride. The Spaniard, beset by more injuries than one could shake a stick at, was unable to find a break. The last time Thiago was included in the starting lineup versus Wolves was in February 2023. It seems like a very long time ago. At 29, he was expected to be Liverpool’s midfield’s missing element, the best of the best. The mastermind behind the plan was Jurgen Klopp, whose exit is obviously much more difficult to handle. He believed Thiago could add a little magic dust and stir things up a little. More often than not, Thiago has been forced to watch from the sidelines. Just After playing in just one Premier League match this season, what transpires? Yes, yet another wound. This season, he has only managed a pitiful five-minute cameo against Arsenal. Even that wasn’t without incident, as he had a bothersome hip issue toward the end of his cameo against the Gunners. How about a bad habit? However, let’s not focus on the drawbacks, shall we? Even though Thiago is leaving Anfield, he has definitely made his imprint. 2021/22 is the campaign. Liverpool were two games away from achieving a historic quadruple and on the verge of greatness. And who was in the driver’s seat? You guessed it: Thiago, our man. Klopp was praising him profusely and referring to him as “world-class.” Furthermore, what do you know? He was not in error.
