Report: Jürgen Klopp calls up two players while Liverpool is without six players from training ahead of Aston Villa.

In just over a week, Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool team will say goodbye to Wolves at home as the Premier League season comes to a conclusion. Even though there won’t be a Premier League championship at stake, Anfield will undoubtedly be charged with emotion. Prior to that, on Monday night, the Reds head to Aston Villa in an attempt to build on their performance against Tottenham the previous weekend. Villa still has a lot of work ahead of them; a victory would secure fourth place and a position in the Champions League for the following season. On Friday, Klopp ran his players through a drill at the AXA Training Centre, although it looked like six players were absent from the training before the trip to Villa Park.

Due to a muscular injury sustained during Liverpool’s victory over Fulham, Diogo Jota has missed the team’s last three games. Although Klopp anticipated he would be absent for two weeks, he has not yet made a comeback and was not present at Friday’s practise. Andy Robertson, a defender for the Reds who scored in the win over Spurs, was also absent from the photos. After an hour at Anfield, he was taken off the field, although he didn’t seem to be having any issues. The Scotland international has already had season-long injury absences. Joël Matip and Thiago Alcântara are long-term absentees from Liverpool and are expected to go when their contracts expire at the end of the season. Bobby Clark will also be absent.

miss the previous two games, and Ben Doak hasn’t been able to play since December. Young players Trey Nyoni and Kaide Gordon were also called up after playing for the first team this campaign. Earlier this week, Gordon signed a new, long-term contract with Anfield.
