Report: Milan aims to sign a £26 million Tottenham player, while Liverpool teases Barcelona with a minimum Darwin Nunez asking price.

In response to reports that Liverpool has set their asking price for Darwin Nunez amid strong interest from Barcelona, Jurgen Klopp has voiced his opinion. Meanwhile, AC Milan is apparently interested in the marginal Tottenham defender who has drawn a lot of criticism this season, according to Friday’s Euro Paper Talk. A transfer to Spanish powerhouse Barcelona is apparently in the works for Darwin Nunez, and Liverpool has reportedly stated their asking price for him this summer. Following his 4-2 triumph over Tottenham last weekend, Nunez deleted all of the photos of him wearing a Liverpool shirt from his Instagram page, which garnered a lot of attention.

The 24-year-old’s rumored transfer to Barcelona was heightened this week when, on some rare time off, he went to Disneyland with their center-back, Ronald Araujo, a fellow countryman. Furthermore, according to Mas Que Pelotas (via Sport), the Reds are prepared to make a deal at least for €85 million (£73 million), which is £12 million less than they originally spent for the striker in the summer of 2022.

Nunez has made 94 appearances for Liverpool and scored 33 goals so far. Despite having a stronger season than his rookie year, Nunez is still considered a bust in many quarters. It is unknown to Klopp that Nunez is leaving. Nevertheless, Jurgen Klopp maintains he has no problems with Nunez and is unaware of any talk about a transfer to Camp Nou, even in spite of several glaring misses this season. The departing Reds manager addressed all the rumors in an interview with media prior to Monday night’s trip to Aston Villa, saying, “There’s no conjecture.” I must be ignorant of that, so it must be an outside rumor.

However, perhaps! I’m no longer involved. There is only the current circumstance; there is no conjecture. “Darwin was undoubtedly upset about losing that opportunity [against the Spurs].” He was unfortunate in a lot of instances where he was doing everything correctly but the ball would still not go in. It’s quite difficult for a young man. He has high expectations for himself and is aware of them. He must experience it. A football player’s career includes it. That is all. If the Barcelona rumors are true, the biggest challenge facing the Catalan team will be finding the necessary funds to complete a deal for Nunez in light of the club’s ongoing financial difficulties. However, should they do so and Nunez decides to depart as well, new manager Arne Slot will probably have a sizable transfer budget at his disposal to add players of his own, potentially resulting in a minor overhaul of Klopp’s present roster.
