Score prediction for Liverpool vs. Aston Villa

Aston Villa should be concerned by Liverpool’s performance against Tottenham last weekend, as the Midlands team appeared completely destroyed. In their quest to bid Klopp farewell in the greatest way possible, the carefree Reds might very well capitalize on this. Villa will put in a lot of effort to finish in the top four, but they could not be able to due to weariness and injuries.

If the Clarets triumph at Villa Park, they will have secured fourth place in the Europa Conference League, having been eliminated by Olympiacos midweek. Spurs are still in the running for the top four after their victory against Burnley on Saturday, but they are still four points behind Aston Villa with two games remaining.

While there aren’t many ailments for Liverpool to worry about, their sharpshooter Diogo Jota is still sidelined following an injury he sustained on April 21 in a 3-1 victory over Fulham.

Joel Matip and Thiago, two long-term absentees, are still out, but youthful Stefan Bajcetic’s appearance against Tottenham off the bench gave Klopp a lift. With just one yellow card standing between him and a punishment for his final game in command of the team, all eyes will be on Klopp during this contest. Can he remain composed for ninety minutes?

As for Liverpool, they can only finish third this season and are officially eliminated from the Premier League title fight. They will want to give Jurgen Klopp the finest send-off possible in his final away game as manager of the Reds, but they have only dignity to play for in the Midlands. Liverpool, who have defeated Villa in their last seven encounters, prevailed 3-0 in the rematch back in September. However, that 7-2 match from the 2020–21 season was their most recent Villa Park loss.
