Report: Slot has to fire the Liverpool loser who makes more money than Diaz and Elliott right away.

Because of his artistic license as Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp has been able to gain prominence, authority, and the ability to pull strings on a variety of crucial technical responsibilities. Despite a determined attempt by FSG to retain him, Michael Edwards resigned from his position as sporting director of Liverpool in 2022, at least in part, because of this. However, Edwards is back at FSG as the CEO of Football, taking on a larger, more prominent role once Klopp steps down. Throughout Klopp’s successful career, Liverpool’s keen recruitment skills have been praised; but, they have suffered over the previous few years. Nevertheless, optimism is increasing that the Merseyside team will engage in a summer of astute and strategic transfer activity.

To some extent, Arne Slot’s first squad will follow Edwards’ multifaceted blueprint, and this power shift will make for an intriguing story to follow as the 2024–2025 season progresses. The most obvious problem right now is that the core leadership group—Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah—have contracts that expire at the conclusion of the next term. However, there are other issues that also need to be addressed. One such problem is left-back Kostas Tsimikas, whose new long-term contract with the team was inked last year and extends to 2027. Was that something that went wrong? The reasons Liverpool signed Kostas Tsimikas Following several years without first-choice star Andy Robertson, Liverpool acquired Tsimikas from Greek team Olympiakos in 2020 for £12 million. This made Klopp had to start James Milner, who is flexible, at full back on a regular basis.
