Liverpool is hoping to sign a “unplayable” Leeds star in the summer.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has disclosed to GIVEMESPORT that Liverpool is eyeing a move for Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville ahead of what is expected to be a bustling summer transfer window. The 22-year-old player has garnered interest from several Premier League clubs, but he has yet to finalize a decision, particularly as Leeds hope to retain him if they achieve promotion from the Championship.

Summerville, who has had a successful season in the second division, is a pivotal player for Daniel Farke’s team as they now face Norwich in the Championship playoffs. The Dutch winger, who was the third-highest scorer in the league this season, earned the title of Championship Player of the Season.

Prior to his time at Leeds in 2020, Summerville played for Feyenoord, where potential future Liverpool manager Arne Slot is currently employed. Although they did not coincide at the club, there is a chance they could collaborate at Liverpool.

A Dutch source, 1908.nl (as referenced by Anfield Sector), indicates that Slot holds a strong interest in Summerville and may initiate his tenure at Liverpool by securing him as the first signing.

Liverpool may look to bolster their attacking options for the upcoming season, with speculation surrounding the futures of both Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez. Salah has yet to commit to a contract extension, with his current deal set to expire in a year, while Nunez’s recent dip in form has sparked rumors of a potential departure.

Following Liverpool’s victory over Tottenham, Nunez took to social media to remove all Liverpool-related photos from his Instagram account. According to Fabrizio Romano, Nunez is expected to hold discussions with Slot regarding his future before the start of the season. Barcelona has been linked with Nunez, as they seek to find a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
