Kompany’s transfer to Bayern Munich is confirmed as Romano discloses the terms of the deal; Liverpool’s top target is desired as the first signing.

In order to hire Vincent Kompany as the next head coach at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich allegedly agreed to pay Burnley a €12 million compensation fee. The Belgian is apparently prepared to go up against Liverpool for a marquee first signing. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Kompany has already sealed his departure from the Clarets by agreeing to a three-year contract with Bayern Munich.

The clubs have reached an agreement, with Burnley set to receive a €12 million fee, and contract terms have already been finalized.

“Kompany is set to take the helm as the new head coach of Bayern on a three-year deal — the deal is sealed following reports earlier this week.”

Vincent Kompany’s initial target for Bayern Munich has been identified as Arne Slot, according to Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink.

Elfrink suggests that Bayern Munich will aim to sign PSV winger Johan Bakayoko as their first target in the upcoming transfer window. He believes that Kompany has established a rapport with Bakayoko through previous attempts to bring him to Burnley last season, as well as their shared Belgian connection.

“PSV striker Johan Bakayoko could be a target for Bayern Munich if Vincent Kompany takes charge. Reliable sources indicate this. Bakayoko was approached by Kompany last year to join Burnley but opted to remain at PSV. The fee offered by the British club was also deemed insufficient. Bayern, however, possesses the necessary resources to secure Bakayoko,” Elfrink wrote for Eindhoven’s Dagblad newspaper.

Elfrink suggests that talks for Bakayoko’s services would require a fee of €50 million, with Liverpool also expressing interest in the player.

“PSV has set a price tag of around €50 million for this summer. Liverpool and other top clubs are keen,” the Dutch journalist noted.
