Sources indicate that Manchester United and Liverpool are expected to compete in a ‘bidding war’ for Murillo.

Sources have informed Football Insider that Manchester United and Liverpool might engage in a “bidding war” for Nottingham Forest star Murillo this summer. On Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke stated that Forest values the Brazilian defender at £40 million and hopes for multiple clubs to drive up the price. To comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, Forest plans to sell several first-team players, with Murillo being a prime candidate due to interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, and European clubs.

The 21-year-old, who joined Forest for £15 million last summer, had an impressive debut season under Nuno Espirito Santo, making 32 league appearances in 2023-24.

Forest aims to spark a £40 million+ bidding war between Manchester United and Liverpool for Murillo. Both clubs and others have expressed interest in the defender, with Forest expecting £40 million as a reasonable fee in the current market.

In other news, Man United have been advised to reject De Zerbi and instead appoint a 52-year-old manager, according to Wyness. For more updates on Man United, follow them on Facebook or join their new WhatsApp Channel for instant notifications.
