Liverpool and Manchester United’s interest in Michael Olise is met with a straightforward transfer stance.

Liverpool is gearing up to be active participants in the upcoming summer transfer window. Arne Slot, in his efforts to seamlessly transition into his new role and undertake the daunting task of succeeding Jürgen Klopp, aims to secure at least a couple of signings. Alongside new sporting director Richard Hughes and the returning duo of Julian Ward and Michael Edwards, Slot likely has already convened to devise the club’s summer transfer strategy. While reinforcements in midfield and defense are anticipated, the potential for alterations in the frontline remains uncertain.

Unless a departure among Liverpool’s forwards occurs this summer, such as Luis Díaz’s speculated move to Barcelona or ongoing interest in Mohamed Salah from the Saudi Pro League, the addition of another attacker would be viewed as a supplementary rather than imperative move. In the event of such a departure, Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise emerges as a potential target. Despite enduring several injuries that limited his appearances, Olise showcased his talent in the latter half of the season, tallying 10 goals in 19 games and establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most promising prospects.

Liverpool has been linked with Olise, but faces competition from Manchester United, who reportedly consider him a top priority for the summer transfer window. The player himself is reportedly eager to join the Old Trafford side, having been a fan since childhood. However, Palace is reluctant to part ways with Olise, particularly given the potential departures of other key players such as Eberechi Eze, Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Marc Guehi. The club’s stance is that losing all four players in a single window would be inconceivable.
