10 crucial Premier League dates for Liverpool are revealed as Arne Slot receives the schedule for his first season in charge.

Arne Slot can now start planning his first season as Liverpool manager, with the 2024/25 Premier League fixtures announced this morning. The 45-year-old will aim to replicate the impact of his predecessor, Jurgen Klopp, and may have already noted key dates from August to May.

Here are some notable fixtures for Slot’s debut campaign in the Premier League:

Ipswich (A) 17 August

Slot faces a challenging start with an away match against Ipswich, who return to the top flight after 22 years. Interestingly, Liverpool also played Ipswich in their last Premier League game in the 2001/02 season. This is the fifth time in six years that Liverpool starts their league campaign against a newly-promoted team, following matches against Norwich (2019, 2021), Leeds (2020), and Fulham (2022). It also marks Liverpool’s fourth consecutive season opener away from home.

Man Utd (A) 31 August

Liverpool will visit Old Trafford early in the season, where they haven’t won in three visits since their 5-0 victory. Last season’s FA Cup exit and a 2-2 league draw at Old Trafford highlighted Liverpool’s struggles, and fans hope for a better outcome this time as Slot faces compatriot Erik ten Hag.

Man City (H) 30 November

Slot will experience his first Premier League clash against Manchester City towards the end of November, entering one of the busiest periods of the season. He’ll aim to improve on last season’s 1-1 draw in this fixture.

Everton (A) 7 December

Slot’s first Merseyside derby could be the last at Goodison Park, with Everton moving to a new stadium in 2025. This match comes after a tough week for Liverpool, hosting Man City and traveling to Newcastle.

Tottenham (A) 21 December

Liverpool might aim to top the table on Christmas Day, and a win in north London could be crucial. They will seek revenge after a controversial 2-1 defeat last season, where VAR errors denied Luis Diaz a goal.

Man Utd (H) 4 January

Liverpool will kick off 2025 with a home match against Manchester United. United haven’t scored at Anfield in their last five visits, including the memorable 7-0 thrashing in March 2023. Last season’s goalless draw, despite Liverpool’s 34 shots, was frustrating, and fans hope for a different result.
