Former Blue Jays utilityman Cavan Biggio is in familiar territory this summer, as the Los Angeles Dodgers are allegedly designating him for assignment with the return of Freddie Freeman to the roster. Freeman has been placed on the restricted list after spending time with his family following his young son Max’s hospitalization with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Biggio, a fifth-round pick by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2016, was DFA’d on June 7th and traded to the Dodgers in exchange for RHP Braydon Fisher. The corresponding move for Biggio at the time was to elevate Spencer Horwitz, who replaced the 29-year-old on the roster.
