Report: Former NY Jets QB making late surge in Broncos QB competition….

Zach Wilson, the former quarterback for the New York Jets, didn’t have a fantastic offseason with the Denver Broncos. The former No. 2 overall pick rapidly dropped down the depth chart and appeared to be locked into the position of the team’s QB3, behind experienced journeyman Jarrett Stidham and rookie Bo Nix. But in Denver, things are turning around. In addition to his success in the team’s preseason opener last week, Wilson has started to accumulate good training camp days. When the Broncos host the Green Bay Packers in their preseason game tonight, he’ll have another chance to close the gap. This past summer, the Jets traded Wilson to Denver for late Day 3 picks, which was more than most people had anticipated the team would receive at the time of the transaction. There were even many who thought the Jets would have to cut loose their once-promising quarterback. After his early setbacks in Denver, it would have been simple to write Wilson off, but the 25-year-old is showing that he might still be useful. Naturally, it’s not a good idea to get too worked up about training camp and the preseason, but maybe
