DONE DEAL : Fulham target in London to complete medical after £25m move ‘agreed

Fulham is about to bolster their midfield after agreeing to a £25 million deal with the Turf Moor club on Monday evening, reports state. The Cottagers have been looking for a new central midfielder and have held talks with Manchester United regarding a move for Scotland international Scott McTominay, but that deal has been shelved as Fulham has turned their attention to Berge. Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that the Norwegian was in London to complete his medical. The deal is worth an initial £20 million with an additional £5 million in addition .

Burnley, which finished last season in the Premier League’s relegation zone, is leading the Championship after winning both of their first two games. They opened the season by defeating Luton Town 4-1 away from home before thrashing Cardiff City 5-0 at home. Due to a slight injury, Berge has not yet played this season; nevertheless, Clarets manager Scott Parker stated last week that Berge was getting close to returning to the training field.

Parker stated on Thursday that “I think he will be back on the turf on Friday, so the weekend [against Cardiff] comes a bit too early for him clearly.” He has been having some difficulty recovering from a quad injury, but we believe that we are now at the proper place. I hope he spends the next few days on the grass. After paying over £12 million to join Burnley in the summer of last year, Berge, 26, played 40 games across all competitions as the Clarets were demoted from the Premier League. In January 2020, he made his first move to England as Sheffield United’s record signing. The Blades’ Premier League result that season was ninth. that season, but they were demoted the next year. Before moving to Burnley in August of last year, Berge spent two seasons in the Championship with the team, helping them win promotion in the 2022–2023 season. He appeared for the Bramall Lane club 109 times. He started his career with the Norwegian club Asker’s academy before joining Valerenga, a team headquartered in Oslo. He began working in Genk in 2017 and stayed until moving to South Yorkshire.
