Joachim Andersen is upset with CP after completing £30m Fulham move…

Joachim Andersen acknowledges that Crystal Palace has “disappointed” him. As the Danish player has recently stated that he is “a little disappointed” that Crystal Palace did not match Fulham’s contract offer, it appears that he would have genuinely liked to remain in SE25. “I was a little upset that Palace could not provide me such a deal in relation to the length,” Andersen says to Danish news source TV2.ys Ctal Palace’s decision was really a calculated move to extract the last bit of money from me, but that’s just how business works on their end.

In our opinion, Andersen’s perspective on this matter is strange. According to Alan Nixon, Fulham is reportedly paying the 28-year-old more than twice his previous weekly salary of £75,000 at Selhurst Park and has secured him on a five-year contract that will last until he is 33.

Thus, it wasn’t “cold” or “cynical” for Crystal Palace not to match that offer, as committing £150,000 a week for five years to retain a £30m player whose value would likely decline as he ages doesn’t make much financial sense.

Dougie Freedman needs to finalize the deal for Maxence Lacroix. While receiving £30m for Andersen is certainly a decent sum at this point in his career, Parish and Dougie Freedman can only congratulate themselves once a replacement has been signed.

That replacement seems to be Maxence Lacroix, who, at 24, is four years younger.
