GAME to Release the $41.99/month DTC Gotham Sports App Featuring MLB, NHL, and NBA Apps
NEW YORKGotham Advanced Media and Entertainment (GAME), the digital joint venture of MSG Networks and YES Network, has announced that The Gotham Sports App will launch this fall, ahead of the NBA and NHL regular seasons. Bringing MSG+ and the YES App together under one roof, the new Gotham app will become each programming service’s exclusive regional TV Everywhere and direct-to-consumer streaming home. Content from the New York Yankees, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, Brooklyn Nets, and Knicks will be available. Following fans who have verified their subscriptions by their respective customary means and who reside in the respective regional coverage zones of MSG Networks and YES (New York State, Connecticut, north and central New Jersey, and northeastern Pennsylvania)
The Gotham Sports App will be available to pay TV providers at no extra charge. The Gotham Sports App will sell the current MSG+ and YES App services as well as a combo Gotham Sports subscription that incorporates both services to users who do not subscribe to a regular TV provider. The combined direct-to-consumer version is less expensive than the two MSG and YES apps, coming in either $41.99 per month or $359.99 annually. At launch, the app will be accessible on a number of platforms and devices, including the Web, Roku, iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, and Amazon Fire TV. More platforms are anticipated to be added soon.
