Adama Traore’s performance in Fulham’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Saturday delighted Marco Silva. The brightest attacking danger in East Anglia for the west London side was the former Wolves winger. In the 32nd minute, Traore scored at the back post following a cross by Antonee Robinson to cancel off Liam Delap’s opening goal. The goal was the 28-year-old’s first of the year. Despite having injury concerns the previous season, Traore has started each and every Premier League game this year.

Fulham head coach Silva stated, “It was absolutely crucial for him to have a normal pre-season.” “This season, he is in much better form than he was last season. He’s aware that I want him to show up in the box in the appropriate places; this is a skill we have been teaching him. “It is undoubtedly a pleasant sensation to reach your destination and have the opportunity to score. In other situations, he was also resolute and produced some positive moments. He also gave Rodrigo (Muniz) a fantastic opportunity.

He is playing because he is contributing to the team. Reiss Nelson, who signed a loan from Arsenal on the day of the transfer deadline, is expected to pose a threat to Traore’s position. The Elephant & Castle, South London native, had appeared destined for Ipswich until Fulham intervened due to issues with their £15 million acquisition of Ernest Nuamah of Lyon. Nelson doesn’t have a buy option in his move. The former England U21 international has made 90 appearances for the Gunners at the senior level. Birmingham purchased 21-year-old striker Jay Stansfield from Fulham for a sum above £10 million. With the England U21 international agreeing to a seven-year contract, the Whites also have a sell-on.
