“Uncanny abilities” – player thriving with unsuccessful transfers to Fulham and Nottingham Forest, with a conversion rate of more than 70%

Fans of Nottingham Forest and Fulham might not want to read on to learn how good Omar Marmoush is performing if they don’t want to feel worse about not being able to recruit a striker this summer. The Eintracht Frankfurt player is featured by BILD today, discussing how he’s been playing well since turning off offers from the Premier League pair this summer. After an outstanding season in which he finished with 17 goals and 6 assists in 41 games last year, Marmoush was linked to a possible departure from Frankfurt during the summer months.

After being rejected by Santiago Gimenez, Nottingham Forest was especially interested and made an attempt; Fulham was also said to be considering a move. However, Marmoush was not interested in either transfer; it was later revealed that he had slightly higher goals in mind than Fulham or Nottingham Forest. And BILD notes that he’s doing a great job for Frankfurt this season, so he’s well on his way to achieving it. With his two goals in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg, he now has 20 goals for the Germans in 45 appearances. After enjoying a 25% conversion percentage in the past, he now converts 71% of his huge opportunities, or nearly three out of four. Additionally, he claims a record of every sixth shot. He takes it in, whereas before it took 13 tries to score a goal. His efficiency is also very impressive, as he presently participates in a goal every 116 minutes. All of this is the product of intensive work on his finishing with coach Dino Toppmoller; however, sports director Timmo Hardung says he is also displaying “skills that can’t be learnt.” The only person who can determine how much improvement he still needs to make is himself. He claimed to possess abilities that cannot be acquired. According to the tabloid, he is doing all of this to “recommend himself” to larger clubs after turning down Nottingham Forest and Fulham earlier.
