Man Utd instructed to fire the Dutchman immediately, and a surprising stand-in manager named Ten Hag

After Manchester United’s humiliating 4-0 drubbing at Crystal Palace on Monday, they have been instructed to fire Erik ten Hag immediately. The Dutchman has also made a significant announcement on his future. An unexpected temporary manager has been selected. The 54-year-old had a fantastic first season in charge of Manchester United, leading the team to the FA Cup final, the Carabao Cup final, and—most importantly—a third-place finish in the Premier League. All that hard work, though, seems to have been undone during a concerning season that has seen the team falter from crisis to crisis.

Even though they still have a chance to win the FA Cup if they can defeat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, not many will be optimistic about their chances at this point, especially after watching their season come to an undeserved end on Monday night when Oliver Glasner’s Eagles defeated them 4-0 at a bouncing Selhurst Park. Palace’s victory over Ten Hag Sack is the “last nail in the coffin.” Paul Scholes, a fellow commentator who was seated next to him, believes that Ten Hag’s career must come to an end. He likens the setback to United’s 4-1 loss at Watford in November 2021, which proved to be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s final game in command. It has been challenging, as Michael has mentioned.

He’s been feeling it for a while, and there have been indications that it will be challenging for him to succeed next year,” Scholes said. But, in a way, tonight felt like the last straw. “The most upsetting aspect is that the team did not put in enough effort or know-how. It seemed to be the end. I’m not sure what’s available right now if this is the end. It doesn’t feel like it right now, but I had a feeling he would get another year and work for a club where the new owners had somewhat cooled things down. “Who was standing in for him? To be honest, nobody was around. Thomas Tuchel has now announced his departure.
