Three Liverpool players have most likely participated in their LAST games with the team.

It’s highly likely that three Liverpool players have already participated in their farewell matches with the team. This summer at Anfield, everything is changing. This summer will see a lot of changes at Liverpool. Naturally, Jurgen Klopp is leaving, and it appears that the majority of the coaching staff will follow him. However, a couple players appear to be likely exits as well. Their contracts are about to expire, and it’s unlikely that they’ll play for the team in the near future due to injuries. These three Liverpool players have most likely played their last game for the Reds.

Joel Matep

Joel Matip’s contract ends in the summer, and it’s quite doubtful that he’ll sign another one when he turns 33 in August. Sadly, he will not be making a final appearance either, having suffered a terrible knee injury in December. That happened before we even found out that Klopp was quitting, even though the Liverpool manager knew what an injury that would finish the season would signify. One of his mainstays got injured and refused to return to the field. Matip shall be remembered as a Liverpool legend. He’s won everything at the team, and in 2019 he started with Virgil van Dijk at center back as they won the UEFA Champions League. His only deterrent from being the front-runner for the title in 2020 was an injury. a talented athlete and someone who will be long remembered at Liverpool.

THIAGO

It comes as no surprise that Thiago won’t be signing a new deal with Liverpool, according to The Athletic. Over nearly his whole tenure with the team, the Spaniard has suffered greatly from ailments. That being said, this season has been especially awful. Thiago has only made one appearance, and during that game, he sustained an injury. As a result, he will not be playing for Liverpool this season, thus we won’t see him in a shirt again. March 2023 was his last start date. However, at his peak, Thiago was a very elite player and a major contributor to the 2022 quadruple effort. Thiago was a major factor in Liverpool coming so close to winning everything in a single season—they were only two games away from doing so.

ADRIAN

Admittedly, at this time last year, we would have claimed that Adrian had played his last Liverpool game. But in the summer, he signed a new contract that took everyone by surprise. He might act in the same way in 2024. Adrian plays the role of the backup’s backup, which is to be the remote option who understands the squad, rather than one who many teams prioritize. However, it seems like it’s time to move on. Adrian will always be remembered for his valiant efforts to win the 2019 Super Cup, in addition to his 11 appearances throughout the championship campaign. The Spanish player even got to put the ball in goal to win the Community Shield in 2022. What more is there to ask for?
