The Harvey Elliott Regret of Jurgen Klopp During the pre-game news conference, Klopp was questioned about the outstanding performances of Harvey Elliott and Cody Gakpo last weekend. Elliott not only scored a goal but also provided an assist as the Reds defeated Tottenham 4–2. “A terrific game for both [Elliott and Gakpo],” Klopp replied. I don’t look back on things like this and wonder what went wrong here or there, but if there’s one thing I regret, it’s probably that Harvey didn’t play more frequently [this season]. It was a crucial and demanding time. Despite numerous injuries in January, he was still our best player—a right winger in the midfield—and played admirably. However, as everyone returned, he played sporadic minutes here and there.

minutes later, he stopped starting.Elliott has been playing well this season and was surprisingly left off of the Premier League’s Young Player of the Year selections. Klopp was also questioned regarding Elliott’s chances of playing for England at Euro 2024. Whatever I say, if it helps Harvey, that’s what I would say,” Klopp added. However, once you have a public conversation, people ask, ‘What does he want to do at the Euros?’ “Suddenly, even though Elliott has done nothing wrong, he feels guilty, yet people will find a cause to ask, ‘Why should Harvey Elliott be there?'” Perhaps he reads it and gets upset. He’s having a terrific time. If someone wishes to choose him, he is equipped with all you require.

He has no trouble packing a huge in a hurry. However, I won’t participate in that conversation.” Elliott, who has already benefited greatly from playing under Klopp, has contributed four goals and nine assists this season. Elliott will be a key member of the Reds going ahead.
