Moreover, with Joel Matip and Thiago both facing contract expirations, new additions are imperative. Klopp’s successor remains a mystery, adding intrigue to Liverpool’s summer transfer activity. Pearce suggests that the team needs “three or four” high-quality signings to compete at the top level again. Matip and Thiago’s departures will be significant losses, given Thiago’s experience and championship pedigree, and Matip’s longstanding reliability and familiarity with the club.
