From skeptics to believers: An homage to Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool

I didn’t really know what I wanted out of life when I was fifteen, etc. But I was aware of my affection for Liverpool and my passion for sport. We weren’t very good, though. Even with the exciting Luis Suarez-driven triumph of the 2013–14 campaign, Liverpool had been too long apart from the position of authority and importance befitting a team of their caliber. And then there was Jurgen Klopp. The former manager of Borussia Dortmund was well-liked in his native country after defeating Bayern Munich twice to win the Bundesliga title. However, his career took a nosedive and he was fired from Signal Iduna Park.

Fans will chant Klopp’s name one last time as Liverpool gets ready to play Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League for the last dance. The 56-year-old has been cheered on for the better part of nine years. If it weren’t for him, I probably wouldn’t be writing this homage to a man who, quite honestly, has influenced a great deal of people, including me.
