Why Arne Slot was named head coach rather than manager of Liverpool
Liverpool have confirmed that Arne Slot will be taking over from Jurgen Klopp, but with a different job title. While Klopp served as the manager, Slot will assume the role of head coach, becoming the 23rd person to lead the team from the Anfield hotseat. Liverpool’s decision to designate Slot as head coach is based on the belief that it better reflects the extensive support structure around the role, allowing him to focus on the core responsibilities of working with the first team. Slot, with previous coaching experience in Holland with Cambur, AZ Alkmaar, and Feyenoord, will have full authority over the squad as the undisputed leader of the first team.
