The Liverpool job was “impossible to ignore,” according to Arne Slot.

After being officially announced as Liverpool’s new head coach, Arne Slot said that it was “impossible to refuse” the chance to work at one of the “greatest teams in the world.”

In April, Liverpool reached a £9.4 million agreement with Feyenoord for compensation, identifying the 45-year-old Arne Slot as Jurgen Klopp’s successor. Klopp, who led Liverpool since October 2015, departed after their final match against Wolves. Slot, set to commence his three-year contract on June 1 pending a work permit, was encouraged by Klopp to receive support from Liverpool fans. Reflecting on his decision, Slot expressed gratitude for his time at Feyenoord but acknowledged the irresistible opportunity to lead a Premier League giant like Liverpool.
