Liverpool Might Get Another Shot to Sign £85 Million Star Leny Yoro

If Liverpool pursues a transfer for Lille wonderkid Leny Yoro, they will have to contend with competition from the best teams in Europe.

TEAMtalk reports that Liverpool have an opportunity to acquire 18-year-old Lille defender Leny Yoro in the upcoming summer transfer window, potentially costing them £85m. Le Parisien suggests that besides Liverpool, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the centre-back.

With Arne Slot set to assume his role as head coach in June, Liverpool faces an important summer, especially with Joel Matip’s departure after his contract expired, potentially making defense a priority area for reinforcements.

Aside from Yoro, Liverpool has been linked with other players like Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Willian Pacho, Sporting CP’s Goncalo Inacio, and Chelsea’s Levi Colwill over the past year. However, recent reports indicate Liverpool may prioritize younger talents with significant potential.

It’s worth noting that Manchester United is also reportedly interested in signing Yoro, adding to the competition for his signature.

Yoro, at a mere 18 years old, has experienced a remarkable ascent in Ligue 1 with Lille. Graduating from their academy, he inked his inaugural professional contract in 2022. Shortly after, he debuted for Lille’s senior team at the tender age of 16 towards the conclusion of the 2021/22 season.
