Liverpool has begun discussions for a midfielder transfer, with two affordable deals on the table.

As the off-season unfolds, attention shifts to the summer transfer window, with Liverpool among the clubs anticipated to make moves by the end of August.

New head coach Arne Slot officially began his role over the weekend, but he likely has already pinpointed his desired transfer targets. Liverpool have been linked to several players, even though the window officially opens later this month.

In the last 24 hours, more transfer rumors have emerged. According to TuttoJuve, Liverpool have entered negotiations with Ligue 1 club Nice for midfielder Khephren Thuram. While other Premier League clubs are interested, Liverpool is reportedly leading the race. Thuram, the younger brother of Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram, is valued at around €30 million (£25.5m) by Nice.

Additionally, Liverpool is one of two clubs interested in Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki. The 20-year-old, who played 33 times in Ligue 1 last season, scoring once and providing six assists, has attracted attention from both Liverpool and Tottenham, according to French outlet Sports Zone. Paris Saint-Germain is also mentioned as a potential suitor. With only one year left on his contract, Cherki might be available at a reduced price, and he reportedly wants to leave Lyon this summer.
