Real Madrid anticipates generating more than €500 million from signing Kylian Mbappe.

On Monday evening, Real Madrid officially announced the signing of French superstar Kylian Mbappe, ending a years-long transfer saga.

The 25-year-old will join Los Blancos this summer as a free agent, having agreed to a five-year contract. Although there is no transfer fee, Real Madrid will pay Mbappe a €100 million signing bonus and an annual salary of about €30 million before taxes.

Real Madrid anticipates a substantial financial boost from this signing. According to a report from AS, the club believes Mbappe’s arrival will ‘pay for itself.’ The Bernabéu offices aim to maximize profitability from the global icon’s presence.

Sources suggest that through sponsorship, merchandising, and social media strategies, Real Madrid could achieve a return on investment close to €500 million. Mbappe, who has endorsements with Nike, Oakley, and Hublot, earns around €20 million per year from sponsorships, and each of his Instagram posts can generate €85,000.

It will depend on how much of his sponsorship rights Mbappe is willing to share with Real Madrid. The club has historically leveraged commercial opportunities from major signings.

Sponsorship deals signed before his arrival will likely remain, with new agreements potentially benefiting the club. Regardless of the percentage, Mbappe’s arrival significantly enhances the Real Madrid brand.
