According to sources, Liverpool has a “solid” interest in signing James Trafford.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool is “concretely interested” in signing Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford during the summer transfer window. The Reds have been scouting the 21-year-old all season and are keeping a close eye on his progress at Turf Moor. According to a reliable source, the Merseyside club has been scouting prospective backups for number one Alisson due to concerns over Caoimhin Kelleher’s long-term prospects.

Trafford, a former Manchester City youth prospect, is thought to be highly regarded by recruitment officials and tops their keeper shortlist as the Reds prepare to launch the Arne Slot era.

Liverpool look ahead with Trafford scouting mission despite Kelleher leave speculations.

Liverpool have had to rely on second-choice Caoimhin Kelleher for much of the season after Alisson missed over 15 games due to injury, but the 25-year-old’s future at Anfield is uncertain. Overall, he has made 26 starts in all competitions for Liverpool this season, thanks in part to Alisson’s rest in the League Cup and much of the Europa League.
