DONE DEAL: Chesterfield sign another young Fulham defender for $….

Chesterfield have secured another young talent from Fulham on loan. Harvey Araujo, 19, was present at Pride Park on Tuesday night to watch the cup match against Derby County before joining Chesterfield on a season-long loan. The versatile defender, capable of playing at left-back or left centre-back, has been with Fulham since he was 11. Araujo recently had a successful season in the academy, similar to Devan Tanton, and contributed to winning the Premier League Cup. “I’m here to play games and become the best player I can be,” he said.

“I’m just here to get game time and become the best player I can be,” said Araujo, who recently inked a new three-year deal with Fulham, highlighting the club’s confidence in his future. The 19-year-old might make his Chesterfield debut against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday. Manager Paul Cook hinted at ‘a couple of announcements’ before the Gresty Road match to manage the rising number of injuries.

Additionally, Blackburn Rovers winger Dilan Markanday, 22, is expected to join Chesterfield on loan, providing a double advantage for the Spireites. The transfer window closes at 11pm on August 30, after which clubs must submit their squad lists to the EFL.
