The Jets front office may be busy attempting to add a key player before the team’s Sept. 8 opener against the San Francisco 49ers, even if Rodgers and the starters will miss the game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. Most significantly, Rodgers may have added a receiver to his repertoire with that addition. In fact, a well-known Jets insider claims that the team is still prepared to make a trade for unhappy Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams. “I think he’ll be a Jet the minute the Raiders are prepared to deal him,” stated reporter Connor Hughes. Adams would undoubtedly bea significant improvement to the Jets’ receiving group, which already features Mike Williams and Garrett Wilson. He enjoyed his best years as a player, contributing to the Green Bay Packers alongside Aaron Rodgers. He’s had four seasons in a row with 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns last year on 103 receptions for 1,144 yards. He had 14 touchdowns in 2022. According to reports, Rodgers is not thrilled in Las Vegas and recently got into a heated argument with coach Antonio Pierce about playing time during the preseason.
