Jets must sign a 69-sack veteran to replace Jermaine Johnson. The New York Jets must bolster their roster. Jermaine Johnson, a pass rusher for the Tennessee Titans, was taken off the field on Sunday, September 15, due to an Achilles injury. Inside the building, there is a worry that Johnson tore his Achilles. Should further medical testing validate that, Johnson will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Ngakoue has shown to be a productive player despite switching teams frequently in the NFL. Since joining the league in 2016, he has made 115 starts and featured in 123 games. Ngakoue has accumulated 224 tackles, 69 sacks, 21 forced fumbles, and 142 quarterback hits in that time. Ngakoue has recently signed a number of contracts that have been large. He agreed to a one-year contract worth $10.5 million in 2023. During his two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021–2022 he earned a total of $26 million. He had a $12 million one-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars before to that. You get what you pay for, but that might turn out to be too luxurious for the Jets’ liking.
