It happened again Paul Finebaum Blames $80M Head Coach for Likely College Football Playoff Snub

While there were many factors that went into the selection committee’s decision, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum believes that Miami’s CFP snub ultimately came down to one simple factor: head coach Mario Cristobal’s poor performance. The three-loss Alabama Crimson Tide’s ranking ahead of the two-loss Miami Hurricanes, potentially putting them in the CFP for the ninth time in 11 seasons, was arguably the biggest controversy of Tuesday’s College Football Playoff rankings reveal. Had the Hurricanes defeated Syracuse on Saturday, a game in which they held a three-touchdown lead at one point, they would have avoided the headache of trying to make their case to the CFP selection committee leading up to Tuesday night.
